Online Masters Degrees

What kind of online masters degrees are available?

Masters degrees can be found in an online format for almost every type of study including engineering, education, criminal justice, business administration, psychology, social work and human services, religion, information technology, and a number of other fields within the arts and sciences categories.

How long does it take to earn an online masters degree?
Like a traditional masters degree, online masters degrees can take approximately two years to complete, depending on whether or not you choosing full time study. Likewise there are also several accelerated masters degrees that will allow you to earn your graduate degree in significantly less time than a traditional program.

What type of person is best suited for online masters degrees?
Online education is not for everyone. If you cannot work independently, have the focus, drive, and motivation to stay committed to your studies without supervision, then online learning may not be the best option for you. Traditional coursework allows you to attend classes at a certain date and time with other students. Online degrees allow you to work from home or your job and make you susceptible to immediate distractions like cooking, laundry, or playing a video game.

Aren’t online masters degrees worth less than a regular masters degree?
As long as the school that offers the online degree is legitimately accredited by an institution recognized by the US Government, then the online degree is just as valuable as a traditional masters degree program.

When can I start earning my online masters degree?
Each school has a different schedule. Some colleges and universities offer rolling admission that will allow you to start at any time. Other colleges will have you start courses in the same traditional college calendar that is used for on-campus students.
