Capella University was the vision of former CEO of the Tonka Corporation who had a desire to establish a university that students could attend at anytime from anywhere. He realized that online education could offer students this flexibility.
With Capella Online there are no mandatory login times and students can study, attend class and complete course assignments within their own schedules and at their own pace, however the courses themselves do have specific starting and ending dates.
Quarters are 10 weeks long and begin at the beginning of each month, except the MBA program which has 12 week quarters that begin every six weeks. Obviously, this is a practical and convenient way for today’s busy adults to earn their degrees and advance their careers without having to sacrifice either full-time employment or family obligations.
Capella Online offers more than 1,000 courses and 22 undergraduate and graduate degree programs.
